2020 top revenue grosser in e-auction of fancy numbers

LUCKNOW: The number, 2020, sold for Rs 80,000 in the first-ever online bidding for fancy registration numbers in Lucknow became the costliest registration number in the state. 

The price it fetched was at least 26 times of its original cost, Rs 3,000. 

The current bidding was for UP32 'KL' series. The online bidding for fancy registration numbers has been conducted as a pilot at Regional Transport Office  (RTO), Lucknow

The remaining numbers will be opened for online booking on first come first serve basis on Thursday.

"So far the numbers have only been sold online. It is only when we get the bid amount transferred to our account in seven days that we can say the number has brought revenue," said ARTO (administration), Lucknow, Raghvendra Singh.
