RTO to put hoardings for public awareness
In order to raise public awareness about the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, Dehradun Regional Transport Office (RTO) is going to put up hoardings across the region.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Arvind Pandey said, “There is a lot of confusion among the citizens regarding the new MV Act, which ideally should not be the case. So, in order to spread awareness about the amendments that have been made we will be putting up hoarding across the region with the related compounding fees written on it. The district magistrate has also expressed the need for such awareness activity.”
It is pertinent to mention here that for the ongoing Panchayat elections, Dehradun RTO has given 60 to 70 vehicles at Raipur block and nearly 100 vehicles in Doiwala block. The vehicles will leave for their designated sectors and zones concerned on Friday. It is also important to mention here that as of now RTO is not issuing challan on the basis of revised compounding fees under the MV Act.
The campaign will be conducted after the elections have been successfully completed.
