How to update vehicle info online...

With a view to overcome non-digitisation of registration records of cars, two-wheelers and transport vehicles, the transport department’s office has sought citizens’ help by launching ‘Citizen Self Backlog Module’ wherein motorists can update information of their vehicles online on their own.State’s transport commissioner (TC) Shekhar Channe has asked all RTOs across the state to promote motorists to use this application which has been provided in ministry of road transport and highways website https://parivahan.gov.in. 

According to Channe’s letter, the National Informatics Centre has prepared citizen self-backlog module. As per TC’s directive, the city RTO Dinkar Manwar has assigned clerks in his office for verification of details uploaded by individual users, while assistant regional transport officer (ARTO) or officers above this rank will approve the updates.

How to update details of vehicles in the site 

1. Visit: https://parivahan.gov.in.
2. Click on Online Services
3. Click on Vehicle Related Services
4. Click on Other states
5. Click on Other online services 
6. Click on Online self backlog data entry 
7. Select State Option 
8. Select RTO Office (where your vehicle is currently registered) For example:- Nagpur (U) (MH31) and submit 
9. Provide six digit vehicle registration number 
10. Enter mobile number to generate OTP 
11. Fill forms of owner information, owner identification/contact details, current address as per records, permanent address as per records and upload 
11. RTO Clerk will verify the details 
12. ARTO and above rank will approve
