VinFast to Announce VF6 and VF7 Prices in India on September 6, 2025

Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) maker VinFast is all set to launch its first two models in the Indian market. After debuting the VF6 and VF7 at the Auto Expo earlier this year and opening its first showroom, the company will officially announce their prices on 6 September 2025.

Expanding Presence in India

VinFast has begun setting up dealerships across the country, with plans to establish 35 facilities by the end of 2025. Both the VF6 and VF7 are already available for online pre-booking at Rs 21,000, signaling the company’s aggressive push into India’s fast-growing EV sector.

VinFast VF6: Compact SUV for the Mass Market

The VinFast VF6 is positioned as a midsize electric SUV and will enter the highly competitive mid-tier EV market.

  • Battery & Powertrain: 59.6 kWh battery with a 204 hp front motor.

  • Expected Price: Between Rs 20–25 lakh (on-road).

  • Rivals: Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Creta Electric.

With its competitive pricing and practical range, the VF6 is expected to attract urban buyers looking for a balance of affordability and performance.

VinFast VF7: Premium SUV with More Power

The VinFast VF7 is the larger and more powerful sibling, targeted at buyers seeking performance and versatility.

  • Battery & Powertrain: 70.8 kWh battery, available in 2WD and 4WD variants.

  • Performance:

    • 2WD: 204 hp (front motor).

    • AWD: 350 hp, 500 Nm torque (dual motor).

The VF7 marks VinFast’s entry into India’s premium EV SUV category, combining strong performance with practical driving range.

Local Production in Tamil Nadu

Both the VF6 and VF7 are being assembled at VinFast’s Thoothukudi plant in Tamil Nadu, which has an annual production capacity of 50,000 units, expandable up to 1.5 lakh units per year.

The very first car to roll out of the facility was the VF7, symbolizing the company’s official production launch in India.

Bookings and Launch Event

Indian customers can pre-book the VF6 and VF7 for Rs 21,000 online, with deliveries expected to begin shortly after the official price reveal. The much-anticipated launch event is scheduled for 6 September 2025, where final pricing and variant details will be announced.

Conclusion

VinFast’s entry into India with the VF6 and VF7 marks a significant step in the country’s evolving EV landscape. With competitive pricing, strong performance, and local assembly in Tamil Nadu, the brand is aiming to capture both the mid-size and premium SUV segments.

As the Indian EV market heats up with competition from Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, and MG, VinFast’s official launch on 6 September 2025 will be closely watched by industry experts and customers alike.
